Franco Colapinto inició con éxito la era 2026 de la Fórmula 1 durante la sesión matinal de tests en el Circuito de Barcelona-Catalunya. El piloto argentino, que es furor en las redes sociales por su carisma, finalizó en la tercera posición entre los siete competidores que marcaron tiempos. Su mejor vuelta fue de 1m21s348, lograda en los minutos finales de la práctica.

Superando la primera bandera roja

La jornada no estuvo exenta de dramatismo para el pilarense. Tras las primeras dos horas de ensayo, un problema técnico detuvo el motor del Alpine y provocó la primera bandera roja de los tests de pretemporada. Colapinto debió permanecer en el garaje durante una hora y media mientras los mecánicos trabajaban en el monoplaza. Pese al tiempo perdido, el argentino regresó a pista para completar un total de 28 giros.

Si bien Alpine no brindó información acerca de esta falla, cabe destacar que es algo esperable. Los shakedowns justamente son sesiones privadas de prueba para que los equipos puedan recopilar información y verificar por primera vez en pista real que todos los sistemas del auto funcionan correctamente tras su ensamblaje. Además de continuar evaluando el nuevo motor Mercedes, sirve para detectar fallos antes de los tests oficiales, con límites de kilómetros. 

La prioridad del equipo fue validar el funcionamiento de los sistemas básicos antes de los tests oficiales en Bahréin, donde se buscará mayor profundidad en el rendimiento. 

El camino hacia el Gran Premio

Este shakedown en Barcelona es el primer contacto real de Colapinto con el coche que conducirá durante la temporada 2026. Aunque se esperan cambios aerodinámicos antes del Gran Premio de Australia en marzo, los datos recolectados hoy son vitales. La capacidad de recuperación tras el inconveniente técnico dejó sensaciones positivas en el garaje de Alpine.
